Wellness: An Early Allergy Season Doesn't Have to Keep You Down
By: Dr. Jason Marr, BScH, ND
Spring is here and flowers and plants are in full bloom! Unfortunately for many people, this means a start to the allergy season. While common, seasonal allergy symptoms are not a healthy body process and are often a reflection of your body’s decreased ability to eliminate environmental and dietary toxins. These symptoms represent an abnormal immune reaction to normally harmless substances present in our foods and the environment.
All of the following may help to reduce the incidence and severity of your allergy symptoms:
- Elimination of contributing factors to inflammation and the allergy cascade in your diet;
- Maintaining a healthy gut-immune system by addressing optimal nutrition;
- Boosting detoxification processes using botanical medicines;
- Supplementation with nutrients which stabilize histamine release or regulate inflammation.
Talk to one of YYoga’s licensed Naturopathic Physicians about formulating a personalized approach to optimizing your health for the coming season! Visit yyoga.ca/wellness for more information.
Why Yoga?
Featuring: Diane Welvaert
I have been 'talking about" doing yoga for... well way too long! I got yoga for Christmas and tried two weeks which led me to sign up for the year! I can't imagine not doing it. Not only is the Yoga wonderful (and I think I have tried almost every class.. except the bike class), the teachers are all as unique and wonderful as they are different. Each teacher has a gift that is a little different than the next. So with my crazy schedule I get who ever is next and I am pretty much always pleasantly surprised. People have actually told me I have been talking too much about going to yoga. Is that possible? Needless to say, I feel better, happier, in better shape and love doing it. Yeah for Yoga!
